Brown Brothers Patricia Shiraz 750mL
The Patricia Shiraz has a vibrant purple hue and a deep powerful inky core. The nose is ripe with dark fruits of blackberry and blueberry with a hint of cool climate pepper spice. The palate is intense and concentrated with great balance. In optimum cellaring conditions this wine will continue to develop over the next 5 to 8 years. The grapes for our 2016 Patricia Shiraz were sourced from a number of vineyards throughout Victoria including Bendigo 45%, our own Heathcote Vineyard 25%, Henty 20% and the King Valley 10%. The fruit was harvested in parcels from mid February to mid March at baumés between 13 and 14.5. A portion of the wine finished fermenting in barrels, then all parcels spent 18 months in 44% new American (30%) and French (14%) oak with the balance in older oak barriques and puncheons before bottling. The wine was bottled with an alcohol of 14.5%.
